Prof. Cedric Bell

Professor Bell is Chairman and Chief Executive of Cambridge International Aviation Academy (CIAA) and Chairman and Chief Executive of Cambridge International Education Centre (CIEC). He was for ten years Chief Executive of Holborn College, London, a leading private sector Law and Business College in the UK, which he built up and sold to the US Washington Post Kaplan Group.  He has experience of leading in universities and educational organisations across Europe, Africa and Asia, and was Pro Vice-Chancellor & Vice-Chancellor of a major global University.  He has held Professorial rank since 1996 and is a Director of a number of UK Companies in the tertiary education and professional training fields.  He is also a Director of Global ATS Ltd. and has undertaken assignments for the Swaziland Civil Aviation Authority including in particular compiling and writing a ‘Strategy for Developing the Aviation Profile of Swaziland’.


Prof. Dr. Şahin Karasar

Professor Karasar is Rector of Maltepe University, Turkey,  and a key member of the CIAA Advisory Board. He is himself an expert in the aviation sector, having previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Turksih Airlines (responsible for Training) and having established Turkish Airlines Management and Leadership Academy, ICAO TrainAir Plus Accreditation and issuing Turkish Aviation Academy Quarterly Journal. Professor Karasar also holds specialist diplomas and accreditations in Aviation Training from bodies such as the International Air Transport Authority (IATA), the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Harvard, amongst others.


Dr. M. Hasan Uncular

Dr Hasan Uncular is Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Cambridge International Aviation Centre (CIAA) and Training Coordinator. He is the Human Resources Manager of Turkish Airlines and Assistant Professor at Maltepe University, Turkey. He has been a Board Member for both the Global Training Advisory Board of IATA and the HR Steering Committee of IATA (International Air Transport Association), and a member of the APDC (Airline Personnel Directors’ Council).

He is the author of 20 published books and numerous articles in his field and has been a speaker in many national and international events related with training, HR and aviation.  As an IATA approved instructor and IATA coordinator, he has taken an active role in making Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy an IATA Regional Training Partner and an IATA Regional Training Centre approved and accredited by IATA. Dr. Uncular has also taken an active role in the establishment process of the Turkish Airlines Leadership School (Leaders of Tomorrow). He has also been assigned as a ‘rater’ for the pilots’ language testing in Turkey by the Turkish Directorate General Civil Aviation.


Çiğdem Ülger Tezel

Cigdem is Director of Strategic Business Development and Company Secretary, Cambridge International Aviation Academy (CIAA), and Head of Aviation, CIEC. Cigdem has extensive experience in providing strategic, legal, risk and compliance advice to major companies (e.g. Oracle, Turkcell) and government departments in many countries such as the UK, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan amongst others. Cigdem holds LLM and undergraduate degrees in International and European Business Law from UK and Turkish Universities and is an accredited Risk Specialist for the Institute of Risk Management (IRM).


Robert Mathews

Robert is Co-ordinator, Aviation Studies for CIAA and is one of the UK’s most experienced teachers and developers of Aviation related subjects, including Aviation English. He has worked in a senior English Aviation Training position for over 10 years for Qatar Aeronautical College and has developed extensive teaching and learning materials in Aviation Studies, both text-based and on-line, covering a wide range of Aviation subjects. These include, amongst others, Aviation English, Air Traffic Control, Meteorology, Hazards for Pilots, Theories of Lift, Physics for Aeronautical Engineers and Air-Sea Rescue. Robert has worked as Researcher in English for the British Council, and has taught English as a foreign language for Anglia Ruskin University; the Bell School, Cambridge; Eurocentre, Cambridge; St Clare’s Hall, Oxford; International House, London and West London College, amongst others.


Ewart Munday

Ewart is Executive Director, Corporate Relations for Cambridge International Aviation Academy (CIAA) and President of CIEC. He uses his wide ranging and high level practitioner experience and global networks in international management to initiate and develop major training programmes, bringing together an elite team of corporate training providers with an emphasis on improving performance outcomes in public and private sector organisations using innovative approaches. Project engagements include organisations such as Bluehat Group, Business Smart International, Excel Communications, i-negotitate, ITS, netStratagems, and Elephants Don’t Forget. Ewart studied at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge University, UK and is a Fellow of the National Institute of Agricultural Botany, member of Ashridge Management College and lead advisory partner to The Critical Eye network.


Prof. Stuart Wall

Professor Wall is Principal and Founder of Cambridge International Education Centre (CIEC) and a member of the Advisory Board of Cambridge International Aviation Academy (CIAA). He is a globally recognised authority in a range of economics, business and management subjects, with numerous texts in many languages for Pearson, the world’s largest educational publisher.  Stuart has been personally cited by the Independent Newspaper in the ‘A to Z of Business Schools’ as having made an outstanding contribution to UK business education. Professor Wall has extensive consultancy experience for major organisations, such as the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology and Industry, Pearson Education, British Telecom and Kaplan, amongst others and has developed aviation educational and training courses.


Veysel Tezel

Veysel has separate degrees in Business Management, Economics and Politics from a major UK university and has extensive experience in both teaching, mentoring and recruiting international students as well as Aviation related project development. He has worked with international educational organisations such as King’s School Ely, Roedean School, Docklands Academy, London,   Cambridge Seminars College, Regent Language School, Select Language School, EC Lanaguage School, amongst others. Veysel also has practitioner experience in marketing, sales promotion with major companies in Turkey and the UK working closely with networks in Dubai, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran and many other international locations.


Frances Amrani

Frances has extensive experience in developing and delivering English language courses and materials for students and teachers in the UK and internationally, especially in the Middle East and North Africa.  She has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology and TESOL from the University of Manchester, a Batchelor’s Degree in Middle Eastern Studies as well as Postgraduate qualifications in TESOL from the University of London and from Michigan State University, USA. Frances is multi-lingual and has held senior positions for Cambridge University Press and has led professional development for language teachers at the University of Manchester and for teacher trainers with the British Council. Frances has worked with chief examiners in IELTS and other examining boards and project managed and contributed to major publications in these areas. She has worked as a language trainer, developing and delivering courses in CELTA, KET, PET, FCE, IELTS, TOEFL and a wide range of language assessment vehicles in the UK and USA. Frances is leading on the English provision within the Aviation Themed Summer School of CIEC and Global ATS Ltd. She is also developing a range of Aviation English Programmes for Maltepe University, Istanbul.
